Washing a roller cover wastes water and chews up the nap. Load the cover heavy with paint when you stop for the day, seal it in a zip-top bag, and the same cover keeps rolling for weeks — then toss it when the job's done.
All-in-one paint really does skip the primer step on previously painted walls. On bare drywall or raw wood, a dedicated primer still wins: it's thinner, soaks in better, levels out smoother, and costs about half as much per coat.
