Chalk-Tinted Compound Repairs
Tinting setting-type joint compound with chalk so fills stay visible while you work and sand.
Pick out the damaged spot, snug the popped screw back down without over-sinking it, dish the edges into the divot with the back of a putty knife, then spackle, sand, and prime before painting.
nail pop in wall, screw head showing through drywall, bump in drywall ceiling, spackle nail pops, paint flashing over patch
A nail pop is a fastener head shrugging its way back through the drywall face — the framing shrank or moved, and the screw or nail stayed put. Painting over the bump doesn't fix it; the crescent of cracked compound comes right back.
