Penetrating oil sprayed on a torch-heated fastener evaporates before it can work — and it's flammable. Touch a wax crayon to the hot joint instead; the melted wax wicks into the threads.

When a push-clip is broken or gone, feed a zip tie through the fastener hole, back it with a washer so the head can't pull through, cinch it down, and trim the tail — the panel is held as well as the clip ever held it.
