Pivoting Nutcracker Jig
A two-board jig on a single nail pivot: a bored hole holds the nut for the hammer, and swinging the top board dumps the shell into a bucket.
Steering straight for the gap is what traps you. Split every movement in half with opposite lock and the car walks sideways instead of turning, opening the room the turn needs.

A car boxed in with almost no room front or back looks unrecoverable, and the instinct that makes it unrecoverable is steering toward the gap straight away. Turning the wheel toward your exit on the first movement swings the nose across the little space you had, and now the front corner is against the car ahead with less room than you started with.
The obvious refinement doesn't work either. Pulling hard over to the far side first, then cranking toward the exit, still fails in a genuinely tight spot — one pass to the far side doesn't buy enough lateral room for the turn that follows, so the car ends up wedged at an angle with nowhere left to go.
The move that gets you out is not a turn. It's a series of small shuffles that shift the car sideways without rotating it much, and only then a turn.
Phase 1 — walk the car away from your exit side.
Decide which side you're leaving toward. You are going to move the car as far as possible toward the opposite side first, to buy room for the eventual turn.
Take the space you have in front and divide it in two. Turn the wheel toward the far side and drive forward the first half. Then turn the wheel the other way and drive the second half.
Reverse the same way: split the space behind you in two, using opposite lock on each half.
Splitting each movement is what does the work. A single continuous turn rotates the car — it ends up angled but no further across. Opposite lock on the second half cancels most of that rotation while keeping the sideways shift, so the car finishes roughly parallel to where it started but bodily moved over. Two cycles is usually enough to open real space on the exit side.
