Stepping-Stone Paver Path
A light-duty curved path of large pavers set on sand beds — sod out, sand in, level or follow the lawn.
Plastic snap edging fails when it sits on the bedding sand — water undermines it and it tips. Pull the sand back, set the edging on the compacted aggregate base, and spike it at an angle, and it stays put.

Plastic snap edging gets a bad reputation for kicking up and tipping over, and the usual cause is where it was set: on top of the bedding sand. Sand doesn't hold the spikes, and water migrating through the joints undermines the edging until it leans away from the pavers.
