Stick a Funnel on the Vacuum Hose to Reach Into Tight Spots
A funnel jammed into the end of the vacuum hose narrows the airflow to a point — suction concentrates through the spout and pulls debris out of vents, tracks, and crevices a bare hose just breathes over.

The Problem
Vacuum crevice tools only go so narrow, and the spots that collect the worst debris — car vents, window tracks, sliding-door rails, keyboard-grade crevices — are narrower. A wide hose end hovers over them moving air without moving grit.
The Technique
- Take a kitchen or automotive funnel and seat its wide end into (or over) the vacuum hose end. Tape the joint if it's loose — leaks kill the effect.
- Vacuum with the spout. The full suction of the hose now pulls through the funnel's narrow tip, and air velocity at the opening jumps accordingly.
- Work the spout along tracks and into vents — the concentrated stream lifts debris a bare hose leaves rattling in place.
Pro tip: A soft silicone funnel is the upgrade — it flexes into curved vents and won't scratch trim the way a hard plastic spout can.
