Technique: Round Roller Edges
Those parallel ridge lines a roller leaves down the wall — painters call them roping or track marks — mostly come from one place: the squared-off ends of the roller sleeve. The sharp edge at each end of the nap carries a concentrated bead of paint and stamps it onto the wall with every pass. You can feather and re-roll to chase the marks, or you can remove what makes them.
Some manufacturers sell sleeves with the ends already tapered for exactly this reason — if yours are square, the scissors get you the same sleeve for nothing.
