Hang Curtains High and Wide or They'll Shrink Your Windows
Mount the rod near the ceiling — at least a foot above the frame — extend it 8 to 12 inches past each side, and run the panels to the floor at 2.5 times the window's width: the eye follows the curtain lines, so generous ones read as bigger windows and higher ceilings.
